The Eighth

The Threads West team is pleasantly stunned to report that Threads West, first of the eight novel Threads West, An American Saga series, just took second place for the category “Romance,” in the Forward Literature National Book Awards. The details are just coming in for this valued accolade achieved despite stiff competition, great books, and noted authors as other entries and competitors. Congratulations to all the other winners!

Threads West, and the series has now won a BEST in Western, 2010, from USA Book News, a BEST in Historical Fiction, 2011, from the IBPA (Independent Book Publishers Association), a BEST in Romance 2011 from the Indies, three Finalist (runner-up) in Romance (USA Book News 2010; international Book Awards, 2011; and now Forward Literature National Awards). In addition, the book won BEST in Cover Design, 2011 IBPA, and a Finalist in Cover Design, 2011 from the Indies. (Thank you, Tami and crew at TLC Graphics!)

Threads West is the epic saga of the adventure and romance of the West, wrapped in a silver bolo of the American spirit. It is our tale. It was my intention to blend into this 170 year, ongoing story of us, history, personalities, the evolution of the land, the universal energy of romance, and the indomitable American spirit – a touchstone I think we need to reach back to. More than 1400 great reader comments and national/regional reviews, along with these wonderful, but very unexpected barrage of awards, seems to indicate that thus far we are achieving just that result. Thanks to the Threads West team, all those who work so hard organizing these great national literary contests, the judges who obviously spend huge amounts of their time in reviewing the tens of thousands of entries, and to our readers!
